Because The Child Was Born

Tune: Jingle Bell Rock
Words: Peter Cheyne (c)

A ray of hope flickered in the sky
A mighty star lit up way up high
All across the land dawned a brand new morn
This came to pass when the Child was born

A silent wish sails the seven seas
The winds of change whisper in the trees
All the walls of doubt crumble tossed and torn
This comes to pass because the Child was born

A rosy dawn settles all around
You get the feel you’re on solid ground
When we trust in Him no one is forlorn
This comes to pass because the Child was born

(Spoken)
And all this happened
Because God loved the world
And sent His only Son
Laid in a manger in Bethlehem
That child grew up and,
by dying, turned tears to laughter
Hate to love, war to peace
And everyone to everyone’s neighbour
Misery and suffering will be forgotten
when He returns as king

It’s not a dream nor illusion now
It has come true we have hope through Him
All across the land dawns a brand new morn
This comes to pass because the Child was born
This comes to pass because the Child was born
